Mateo runs a volunteer pantry feeding 361 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 361 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Albany market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,100
• Refrigeration and electricity: $280
• Baby formula and diapers: $320
