Feed 358 families each week at Community Pantry in Savar
The Community Pantry pantry in Savar is running low just as demand rises; $350 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 358 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Savar market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $115
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $160
Glad we found this place.
Updates from Abdul
Small update. $46 so far, the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.
Thank you all. We're at 9% now ($30). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward rice, beans, flour and oil.

hope it all works out. Great idea, hope you get there. We're a small family in Medina but we're thinking of you. Take care.
