Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 348 each week. Donations have dropped by about 39% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Newport market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $3,000 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,300 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $900 • Baby formula and diapers: $590 • Refrigeration and electricity: $210 Thank you so much.

  2. We're at 17% thanks to 17 of you. the first invoice got paid this week. More news soon.

  3. Quick update: $166 raised so far (6%). the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
