Feed 336 families each week at the Second Helping in Kampala
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Kampala.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 336 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kampala market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $195
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $55
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Refrigeration and electricity: $20
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
