Feed 331 families each week at the Second Helping in Dhaka
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Dhaka.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 331 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Dhaka market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $130
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
If you're reading this, thank you.

Best of luck, Runa. Hope you get there. Please keep us posted. All the best.
Stay strong, Runa. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care
