Feed 326 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Scranton
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Scranton is running low just as demand rises; $1,200 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 326 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Scranton market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $450
• Baby formula and diapers: $250
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $500
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
