The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Quezon City is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Quezon City
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 325 each week. Donations have dropped by about 42% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Quezon City market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $450 goes: โ€ข Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $210 โ€ข Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140 โ€ข Baby formula and diapers: $80 โ€ข Refrigeration and electricity: $20 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Manuel
