The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Coyoacán is running low just as demand rises; $1,000 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Saturday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 308 each week. Donations have dropped by about 49% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Coyoacán market and keep every receipt. Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,000 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $530 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220 • Baby formula and diapers: $180 • Refrigeration and electricity: $70 Glad we found this place. - Luis
