Feed 303 families each week at the Thursday Table in Barcelona
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Barcelona.
🇪🇸 Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain1,780 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Thursday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 303 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Barcelona market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,450
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $400
• Baby formula and diapers: $260
• Refrigeration and electricity: $240
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Good luck, Álvaro. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Derry.
Sending strength, Álvaro. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out
wishing you peace, Álvaro. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Vitória da Conquista but we're thinking of you.
