Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 287 each week. Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Riverside market and keep every receipt. Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,750 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $430 • Refrigeration and electricity: $180 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,140 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Joshua
