Feed 280 families each week at the Second Helping in Iztapalapa
The the Second Helping pantry in Iztapalapa is running low just as demand rises; $900 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 280 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Iztapalapa market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $900 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $165
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $675
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thank you all. We're at 16% now ($140). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.

good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours.
Hope things get better soon, Emilio. Shared it with a few friends. God bless
good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Nagpur.
So sorry you're going through this, Emilio. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 21 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Great idea, hope you get there. My neighbor in San Jose donated after I showed her your page. God bless
