Feed 236 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in San Diego
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in San Diego is running low just as demand rises; $2,000 will stock it for 8 weeks.
🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States1,076 views
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 236 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt.
Each $60 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,300
• Baby formula and diapers: $250
• Refrigeration and electricity: $450
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Keep going, Isla. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Mandurah
Thanks for sharing this, Isla. Looking forward to the next update. Take care.
Sending strength, Isla. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
