A community garden for the old Sycamore bus depot: help our neighbors in Naivasha
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $100 for materials.
🇰🇪 Naivasha, Nakuru, Kenya153 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 295 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $100 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
Thank you so much.

Hope things get better soon, Margaret. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Naivasha.
shared this with my family. My neighbor in London donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Naivasha.
