Feed 232 families each week at the Thursday Table in Newcastle
Eugene runs a volunteer pantry feeding 232 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 232 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Newcastle market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,900
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $530
• Baby formula and diapers: $600
• Refrigeration and electricity: $420
Every share and every dollar helps.

sending good thoughts, Eugene. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted.
Rooting for you, Eugene. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Södertälje.
Hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 19 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
Take care, Eugene. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't give up. God bless
