Haarlem
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 203 each week. Donations have dropped by about 52% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Haarlem market and keep every receipt. Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,900 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $960 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $420 • Baby formula and diapers: $220 • Refrigeration and electricity: $300 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hope things get better soon, Noor. Hope this works out for you. After 7 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Haarlem.
