The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Suwon is running low just as demand rises; $1,300 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Friday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 202 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 36% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Suwon market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $250
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $700
• Baby formula and diapers: $350
Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ha-eun
Refrigeration and electricity is $250 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
Great idea, hope you get there. Thinking of Suwon.
