Feed 201 families each week at the Second Helping in Savannah
The the Second Helping pantry in Savannah is running low just as demand rises; $1,600 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 201 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Savannah market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $230
• Refrigeration and electricity: $130
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,240
