Feed 197 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Abuja
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Abuja is running low just as demand rises; $250 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 197 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 38% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Abuja market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $250 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $115
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $55
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hang in there, Zubby. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Juazeiro do Norte.
Thinking of you, Zubby. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
Wishing you peace, Zubby. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Great idea, hope you get there. Greetings from Utrecht
Wishing you peace. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care

Sending good thoughts. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money!
Thinking of you and your family, Zubby. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home!
