Feed 196 families each week at the Second Helping in Macon
The the Second Helping pantry in Macon is running low just as demand rises; $3,200 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 196 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Macon market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,550
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $270
• Refrigeration and electricity: $280
I hope life is good to you.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Odesa but we're thinking of you.
