Feed 187 families each week at the Thursday Table in Chicago
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Chicago.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 187 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 31% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Chicago market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,900
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $950
• Baby formula and diapers: $330
• Refrigeration and electricity: $120
I hope life is good to you.
