Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 180 each week. Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Karachi market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $250 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $95 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $95 • Baby formula and diapers: $30 • Refrigeration and electricity: $30 Thank you so much.

Updates from Shoaib

  1. We're at 37% thanks to 2 of you. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers. More news soon.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($44 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Shoaib

    • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $95 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.

  • Rooting for you. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Kharkiv
