Bang Khen
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 176 each week. Donations have dropped by about 32% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bang Khen market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $500 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $320 • Baby formula and diapers: $85 • Refrigeration and electricity: $95 Thank you so much.

  • Sending strength, Ekkachai. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Bang Khen.

    • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Bang Khen

      • Sending love, Ekkachai. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Saint Petersburg
