Feed 172 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Kampala
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Kampala is running low just as demand rises; $350 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 172 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kampala market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $230
• Refrigeration and electricity: $45
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
Thank you so much.

take care. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Madrid.
Shared this with my family. After 15 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Bacoor.
sending strength. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Los Angeles
