Feed 144 families each week at the Second Helping in Cairo
Duha runs a volunteer pantry feeding 144 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 144 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Cairo market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $125
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $305
Thank you so much.

Thinking of you, Duha. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Thinking of Cairo.
You're not alone, Duha. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Take care
