Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 134 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the London market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $840
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $840
• Baby formula and diapers: $320
Thank you so much.

Sending strength. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Abuja so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Heraklion
Take care, Miles. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Saint-Étienne.
Great idea, hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
stay strong, Miles. Shared it with a few friends
Wishing you the best. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Addis Ababa so I could bring a meal. God bless.
