Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 133 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 35% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Albany market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $4,150 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $2,200
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,050
• Baby formula and diapers: $510
• Refrigeration and electricity: $390
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Thinking of you, Julian. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best
Wishing you the best, Julian. Hope this works out for you.
