The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Nashik is running low just as demand rises; $250 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Nashik
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 132 each week. Donations have dropped by about 59% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Nashik market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $250 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $165 • Baby formula and diapers: $65 • Refrigeration and electricity: $20 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
