Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 107 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Londrina market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180
• Baby formula and diapers: $100
• Refrigeration and electricity: $120
If you're reading this, thank you.

thinking of you and your family, Ronaldo. Great idea, hope you get there.
Stay strong. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Magelang.
Sending strength, Ronaldo. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ronaldo.
It's all in the list in the story. fresh vegetables and fruit is the big one at $180, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. I'll keep the page updated.
Take care, Ronaldo. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
good luck, Ronaldo. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 7 years in retail I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Thinking of Londrina
