Mattia, my husband, passed away on 7 November after a road accident. He was 53 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,850 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 22 November.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Mattia to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Catania hospice.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $1,500
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $870
• Transport of the deceased: $280
• Memorial gathering for the family: $200
