Jide, my brother, passed away on 9 August after a road accident. He was 49 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 17 August. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Jide to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank. Where the $550 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $360 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $110 • Transport of the deceased: $40 • Memorial gathering for the family: $40 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
