Emilio, my grandfather, passed away on 25 November after complications from pneumonia. He was 48 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,300 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 13 December.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Emilio to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.

• Funeral home services and casket: $1,150
• Transport of the deceased: $270
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $880
