Alexander, my brother, passed away on 12 September after a short illness. He was 61 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Alexander to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Sydney hospice. Where the $5,500 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $3,600 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,300 • Transport of the deceased: $460 • Memorial gathering for the family: $140 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
