Aarti, my grandmother, passed away on 27 September after a sudden heart attack. She was 46 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 7 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Aarti to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt.

• Transport of the deceased: $75
• Memorial gathering for the family: $55
• Funeral home services and casket: $370

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vaibhav!
Sure. The biggest one is transport of the deceased, $75. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
