My son Francois has been accepted for treatment at the Johannesburg Cancer Centre in Johannesburg, starting on Saturday in July. We live 571 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 4 weeks. Two of us would stay: Francois and me. We can contribute $35 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Francois will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

    Changed my perspective

I was going through a tough time and this person's support was invaluable. They didn't judge, just helped. That kind of genuine compassion is rare these days.
