Étienne needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $3,700.

Étienne lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Poitiers General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,700.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Étienne could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• braille note-taker: $3,100
• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $190
• First-year servicing plan: $140
