Erosion collapse in Ikeja: help the Marketplace settlement rebuild
After the erosion collapse, families in the Marketplace settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇳🇬 Nigeria383 views
The erosion collapse hit the Marketplace settlement on 15 July. My home was one of 65 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $155
• Tools and labor for repairs: $240
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $135
• Roofing sheets and timber: $670
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Glasgow
You're not alone. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Sacramento this morning. All the best.
Sending love, Uchenna. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 6 people at work. Greetings from Durham
