Erie flash flood relief - the Sunrise settlement
After the flash flood, families in the Sunrise settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇺🇸 Erie, Pennsylvania, United States1,382 views
The flash flood hit the Sunrise settlement on 22 September. My home was one of 53 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $6,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,000
• Clean water and purification supplies: $380
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $680
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,140
I hope life is good to you.

how is Taylor doing now?
Sending love, Taylor. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Fresno.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Taylor
Roofing sheets and timber is $3,000 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Paris but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Thinking of you, Taylor. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Take care
Wishing you peace, Taylor. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Oakland.
Hang in there. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Erie
