Emery lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Auckland General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,300. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Emery could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,300 goes: • specialist standing frame: $6,000 • First-year servicing plan: $145 • Delivery and set-up: $155 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
