Emergency vet bill for Ziggy in Southampton
A German shepherd named Ziggy needs a hospital stay and surgery - a $1,300 bill the family can't cover.

Ziggy is my German shepherd of six years. On 13 August we rushed to the Southampton Emergency Vet Clinic with kidney failure. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $1,300.
They have stabilized Ziggy, but the treatment can't wait beyond October.
Ziggy is more than a pet - Ziggy is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $105 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to the Southampton Emergency Vet Clinic's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $550
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $430
• Medication and follow-up visits: $155
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $165
