Emergency vet bill for Sunny in San Diego
A tabby kitten named Sunny needs emergency surgery - a $1,600 bill the family can't cover.

Sunny is my tabby kitten of eleven years. On 14 October we rushed to San Diego Animal Hospital with kidney failure. The vet recommends emergency surgery, and the estimate came to $1,600.
They have stabilized Sunny, but the treatment can't wait beyond January.
Sunny is more than a pet - Sunny is the reason I get out of bed. I have already put $320 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to San Diego Animal Hospital's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $560
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $740
• Medication and follow-up visits: $120
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $180
