Emergency vet bill for Oscar in Paarl
A cat named Oscar needs a hospital stay and surgery - a $400 bill the family can't cover.
🇿🇦 Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa976 views
Oscar is my cat of two years. On 14 May we rushed to the Paarl Emergency Vet Clinic with pyometra. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $400.
They have stabilized Oscar, but the treatment can't wait beyond July.
Oscar is more than a pet - Oscar is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $35 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to the Paarl Emergency Vet Clinic and I'll share the invoice and an update on Oscar's recovery.
Where the $400 goes:
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $105
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $90
• Emergency surgery: $205
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Best of luck, Jabu. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
stay strong, Jabu. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Cairns.
Rooting for you, Jabu. Shared it with a few friends. My husband and I read this together. Take care.
