Emergency vet bill for Hazel in Philadelphia
A rabbit named Hazel needs emergency surgery - a $1,650 bill the family cannot cover.
🇺🇸 United States983 views
Hazel is my rabbit of nine years. On 12 August we rushed to Philadelphia Veterinary Centre with a foreign object blocking the intestines. The vet recommends emergency surgery, and the estimate came to $1,650.
They have stabilized Hazel, but the treatment can't wait beyond September.
Hazel is more than a pet - Hazel is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $340 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to Philadelphia Veterinary Centre and I'll share the invoice and an update on Hazel's recovery.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $890
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $320
• Medication and follow-up visits: $340
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $100
Thank you for reading my story.
