Emergency vet bill for Ginger in Mississauga
Ginger, Jyoti's German shepherd, needs urgent treatment for kidney failure costing $1,600.
🇨🇦 Mississauga, Ontario, Canada778 views
Ginger is my German shepherd of six years. On 12 October we rushed to Mississauga Animal Hospital with kidney failure. The vet recommends an operation to remove the blockage, and the estimate came to $1,600.
They have stabilized Ginger, but the treatment can't wait beyond January.
Ginger is more than a pet - Ginger is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $300 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to Mississauga Animal Hospital and I'll share the invoice and an update on Ginger's recovery.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $780
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $480
• Medication and follow-up visits: $200
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $140
Thanks for being kind about this.
- Jyoti

I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Mysuru
Best of luck, Jyoti. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Brisbane.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jyoti!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. emergency surgery comes first ($780) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Rome!
good luck. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Keep going, Jyoti. Gave what I could, wish it was more
