Emergency vet bill for Ginger in Ekurhuleni
A German shepherd named Ginger needs a hospital stay and surgery - a $600 bill the family cannot cover.
🇿🇦 Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa1,257 views
Ginger is my German shepherd of six years. On 24 August we rushed to the Ekurhuleni Emergency Vet Clinic with bloat. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $600.
They have stabilized Ginger, but the treatment can't wait beyond November.
Ginger is more than a pet - Ginger walks my kids to the bus stop every morning. I have already put $85 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
Funds will be paid straight to the Ekurhuleni Emergency Vet Clinic and I'll share the invoice and an update on Ginger's recovery.
Where the $600 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $270
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $200
• Medication and follow-up visits: $55
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $75
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Good luck, Chantel. We've got a rescue too so I know how much they mean.
Keep going, Chantel. Shared it with a few friends.
best of luck, Chantel. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
Hope things get better soon, Chantel. We've got a rescue too so I know how much they mean. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Houston.
