Emergency hernia repair for Kacper: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled emergency hernia repair in April is out of reach without help covering $1,850 of the cost.

Kacper was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in January. The surgeon at Poznań University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,850 short.
my son has been in and out of Poznań University Hospital since January. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kacper struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Kacper won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.

• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,100
• Physiotherapy sessions: $320
