Elsa lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Stockholm General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,100. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Elsa could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,100 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $5,500 • Fitting and training sessions: $120 • Delivery and set-up: $195 • First-year servicing plan: $285 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Per

  • Rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope November is when things finally get easier. All the best!
