Elias's a craniotomy can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After an aortic valve defect, Elias was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Elias was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in January. The surgeon at Tampa General Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,900 short.
my son has been in and out of Tampa General Hospital since January. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Elias struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Elias won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $7,900 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $490
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $4,350
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,650
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $410

Hope it all works out. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Please keep us posted.
Thinking of you, Peyton. Wishing Elias a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Wishing Elias a smooth procedure and a full recovery. After 25 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything!
Hope you get there. Thinking of Tampa
