Elena needs a braille note-taker - help us make it happen
Elena needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $3,350.
🇺🇸 Riverside, California, United States1,179 views
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Riverside Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,350.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• braille note-taker: $2,700
• Fitting and training sessions: $280
• Delivery and set-up: $115
• First-year servicing plan: $255
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

this could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Riverside
