Electricity shut-off notice: help Shaista pay $100
Shaista is behind on electricity bills after June's medical emergency and needs $100 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless I pay $100. I have never been late before June's medical emergency.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $5 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Shaista's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
Where the $100 goes:
• Water arrears: $75
• Reconnection and late fees: $15
• Down payment on a payment plan: $10
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hope it all works out, Shaista. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Makati
Take care. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Don't give up. Thinking of Hyderabad.
You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Berlin.
