Santiago is behind on electricity bills after my partner leaving the household and needs $650 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. Santiago received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless $650 is paid. He had never been late before my partner leaving the household. Santiago called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $50 first, which isn't available. The household includes three children under ten, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. Santiago is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $650 goes: • Gas arrears: $400 • Reconnection and late fees: $135 • Down payment on a payment plan: $115 Thank you so much.
